A man born blind can easily deny the significance of a vast landscape. He can easily deny all the wonders that he cannot touch, smell, taste, or hear. But one day the wind will show its kindness and remove the tiny patches that cover your eyes, And you will see God more clearly than you have ever seen yourself.
This is a puzzling poem that provokes contemplation. What do you make of it?
The word ‘wind’ here is a metaphor for the word God, or
Divine. Maybe I should have capitalized the word ‘wind,’ or
at least put it in italic.
And was glad to recently give a link to this website — The
Province of Joy in a recent blog I posted, titled: ‘Admit
Something’, which are the first two words in a Hafiz poem reprinted at this site. this site.
And this Meister Eckhart poem-rendering …. is too from that
Penguin anthology — Love Poems from God.
